This site has the most up to date version of the phpBB forums, so unfortunately your claim has no affect on this forum.
There is no way to stop spammers from registering, besides monitoring and approving each and every user that registers on the forums.

If stuff like this happens on the site again, don;t just post a reply on the forums, e-mail or PM either myself Barry, or one of the other moderators on the site.
