I shaved the lettering off, and sanded them before painting them, and then color sanded them afterward. They still look great.

Nah it shines through just fine, it's just burnt orangeish. I used Pactra Racing Finish RC294 Window Tint. I got it from a hobby store in the US (Hobbytown USA to be exact). I'll get some pics at night if I can, but my camera doesn't have flash so it may turn out funny lookin.

Pactra is good, but more expensive than VHT, in case anyone cares.

You're not kidding, mine are not near as bright as yours. Looking at yours makes me think I did it a bit too dark. Oh well, I promise I'll get some night pics up soon.

GOOD JESUS THOSE PICS ARE BIG.

They aren't TOO dark, I'm sure you can see them at night just fine. During the day though, I dunno.

instead of fixing the cracks i thought i'd "buff" it right out, and the mounting section of the lip i bought was missing was missing, so it worked out ^_^

Just gonna emphasize checking with your local law enforcement before painting your taillights! I live in the Fraser Valley and called my local cop shop. Found out that this modification is illegal in British Columbia
