I was watching a video of random mx-3's last night. I seen a silver mx-3 with gold rims. It was the sweetness.

I wanna do gold but its pricey and it dont match anything on the car unfortunately. I was driving/chillin in my car last night and checking it out under the light and I thought that silver or gunmetal would be the only good colors.. I have a plan for the rims though so its ok.

See what I REALLY wanted was gloss black with a polished lip. But that is super tricky to do apparently and it would be better to get it painted (which apparently my rims are). So I will stick with straight gunmetal.

well i think that gold rims would look tacky, black is too overdone and actually i think gloss black can look "cheap" white is a sick color, i painted my bike white and i LOVE it. however after a solid summers riding the white has all sorts of scuffs from certain tricks and looks pretty garbage right now, so i wouldnt want to have white rims especially with brake dust.

gun metal has a solid look to it that isnt too flashy but is still a head turner.


what you CAN do about your chrome lip is to get a very fine grit sand paper and polish out the scratchs. then tape off the chrome and paint the spokes gunmetal. allow to dry, and then with the tape off - respray the whole rim with a clear.

I am getting them powdercoated. Paint just does not hold up long enough for me. I do alot of high speed, long distance highway driving and it takes a toll on the rims. I know that powdercoating is super durable so I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and get it done right, but as a solid color

I just got my rims powdercoated 'gloss black', So I guess that means they look cheap.
I've stated my opinion, and you've also gave me your opinions on different things. I'm sure
whatever you choose, it will look great. Make sure to update us bro.

Gloss black is fine with me, I would just want to have a polished lip as well.

AND I told you to get bronze And you didn't so I guess we are even.

Those are 17s right? I had Gunmetal Motegi MR7s in 17" and loved them. Even though the design was a little too popular they still looked good. My only problem with the 17s is they make the brakes look so small. I went back to 15s and a beefy tire, mainly for traction and weight, but the brakes do fill up the rim nicely at that size.

Yea I know what you are saying. I was really careful when I got the rims to make sure I got a rim that had a spoke that curved in, if you have a straight spoke like a mr7 then it makes the rim look bigger and the brakes smaller. I have had ppl ask me if I was running 16" rims at times just because of the spoke design
