oh don't take it wrong it was spinning out from the bass. but it wasn't started from it. you just didn't tighten it enough in the first place. hence why only one was doing it!

Everyone always comments on how clean my JL is compared to other people's setups. I am just a novice though, so I cannot comment on super high end. All I know is that I am underpowering my sub (only running a 250w monoblock on it) and it still spins my rear view a bit when I pump it. It's also pretty tight w/ the type of music I normally listen to (prog rock, and hard rock) where keeping up w/ the drums is key. I've never had it miss a beat.

I highly recommend Infinity's Kappa series component speakers. Their crossovers are good, but bi-amped, the speakers are reference quality. If you do go this route, you'll need an EQ (quality 6-10 band, or parametric) because they're hot in the 4000hz range (by design) and you'll get tired of that quickly.

Whatever you go with, make sure you bi-amp with an electronic crossover out front.

I handbuild my amps, so I don't know what's good out there, but stick with class-D for subs, and A/B for mains. Listen to the amps before you buy them. If you hear any hiss with zero input, move on. They're garbage.

Run quality, thick shielded RCA cables, but not name-brand. You shouldn't spend more than $2-3/foot/pair.

Avoid ground loop isolators by carefully managing your grounds. Ground loop isolators suck.

I've had a really good experience with JVC's exad stuff, but have moved on to a carputer for my audio now, so there might be better stuff out there now. :)

PM me if you want any ideas/tips about audio in general... I'm a freak who owns several $1000+ pairs of headphones, and as I said I'm an amp builder. My car setup rivals 99% of people's home setups for clarity, tonal balance, accuracy, and phase distortion (I'm using a software crossover!).

*edit* oh ya one last thing. Remember.. it's not the watts that count, it's how you use em. :) If a car amp is rated "1000W RMS" they're lying. Almost certainly. Unless that amp is $2500+. My entire system peaks out at about 500W, and at that level it's deafening (130dB+)... but the point is it does it at <1%THD. Most "cheap" amps will deliver 50-100W with reasonable distortion figures, but even the big ones distort horribly above that. It's all in the crappy power supplies they use. Point is, look for quality, not quantity.

I'm putting JBL C608GTI Mkii for my front speakers and another set of JBLs for the rear. I do not know why NO ONE in this thread (or maybe i read to briefly) has mentioned them. Most of the companies named have good speakers but of course for good/best they get expensive. My whole interior will be JBL i just haven't come to a conclusion on what head unit or sub i will use. Also if anyone has suggestions on which multi channel amp to use would be appreciated. the JBL's i listed are 150 RMS.

I found a pair of MB Quart speakers in a junkyard and they sound absolutely amazing, I forgot the model number and I don't know the specs because I didn't want to translate the german on the backs of them. But the sound is so clear and crisp, I was really surprised.
