Here's the reason Jeff doesnt want personal avatars.

People will abuse it, posting NSFW or annyoing avatars. With all these members, its difficult to police.

Or you can give privileges to senior or supporting members? I dont think there will be a big problem with that group

I would just post a slightly PS'd pic of my face... or a pic of my car... like on MSN. I think pornographic/inapropriate avatars are seriously cheesy. Leave that stuff in that folder you made way down in in your harddrive...
