I've got some who buddies own Exclusive Wheel & Tire in Ajax, I got my snows for the Xterra from them and will get my off-road tires next year from them too.

Kinda nice if they could post some prices but thanks. I don't think anyone is going much lower than $135 installed for Tripletreads. So many tires out there who knows but so far everything I read on these sounds good. On Xmas day I'll have the kids gather around my car pointing to the tires and wish them a Merry Xmas. lol

Firestone has some good tires for 60 bucks... it's the falcon ziex. or something like that. I got thems put on my mx-3 and they've got a hefty warranty and seem to perform just fine.

A true all-season tire doesn't really exist...it would be an inproved tire in winter conditions, but it's not all about how it deals with precipitation, but the pain factor is the compound staying soft in colder condition. If they stayed that soft in the summer, they wouldn't even come close to lasting 100k kms. Most M+S usually are good all-around tires. For winter tires, alot of people recommended the BFG AT/KO for winter tires, but I've heard that they're quite horrible on ice and slipper conditions.

Speaking of which, my cousin had some tripple-threads at his shop, first time I've ever see them...damn those are some funky threads!

I think the triple treads work awesome in most any condition! Haven't had a problem yet! Not the best in the summer but work AWESOME in the rain!. I also really like the tread pattern..they're a cool looking tire!

I agree though, best tires are seasonal ones.

It seems all you did was regurgitate all the usual assumptions. Did you even give them a look?

Why would a manufacturer put a warrenty on a product when they knew it was going to cause them to replace every unit they sell?

It exceeds the new winter tire regulations (NHTSA & Transport Canada), and it does indeed have the 100K km warrenty...

So do the triple treads but that doesnt make them truly an all season tire! The triple treads have the highest rating on tirerack and have some of the most miles driven on them.

Oh, and the triple treads also have a 60 or 80000MILE warranty!

NO tire can be best in both winter and summer...period. Unless they have invented or started to use a completely different compound that's properties don't change over 100+ degree temperature changes.

Also warranties are for expected use and all winter or all summer driving will make them wear out faster...all weather tires are best for fall and spring weather where it's not too hot and not too cold! It's like a light jacket, works well enough in the winter but sometimes you need a little more, then in the summer its a little too hot for it, but its just perfect fall and spring!

I agree, no tool designed for muiltiple jobs will be the best at any.. "jack of all trades, master of none" kinda deal.

I don't understand your final arguement. Oh maybe I do. I don't recommend these all weather tires for people who live in perpetual summer or winter. For people who have enough of one or the other that they need two sets...

Ya, basically. They fit my needs perfectly because thought it gets cold (like 0F or -10 on really bad days) it doesn't get that cold often. Summer only gets to 90 a few days of the year - most of the weather is between 30F and 70F, which is best for all weather in my eyes. I know they aren't the best tires for each season, but they work alot better than any cheaper tires! It snows like 5 months out of the year by me, but its mostly slush in the streets from all the sand and salt they use. I also only drive like 1 mile a day during the school year since I'm really close to my college. If there was more summer, or I was planning on going to a track more often, I'd look into seasonal tires...but alas, I can't afford 2 sets of tires or rims, so I will get the best all weathers I can! For me, all weathers win out - but I recommend summer based all weathers (or just summers) and snows to everyone else...because thats the best setup. If people don't have deep pockets, they settle for the all weathers anyway!

I have about 8 months of hardcore snow, 2 of wet slush cold, and 2 of summer. So people generally have both a set of winters and a set of summers. We have a temperature range of nearly 100 centigrade.

We know how to drive in snow, for the most part. I learned how to drive in it, I could do easily without winters, but I got a steal of a deal so I went for it... But if there is a good all season(weather) tire out there, people around here are definately interested, because our weather is so unpredictable. Snow for a week, slush, freeze, slush, dry, snow again...
So if these NRW's or TripleTreds work relatively good, for being what they are, then its dedinately an good option.

Although it seems the Tripletreads are rated for 'light snow' whereas the NRW's are for hardcore snow... like us

Read reviews more than stats, I trust many people over the voices of the company! I will have to check out those tires youre talking about.

Lots of good info thanks. I bought the Goodyear Tripletreads and so far they're working great in the slop. Very good on the hwy as well.
