My intercooler is half the size of most of these, yet will handle 22 psi and more than 300hp. Most of the intercoolers shown will probably be fit for 500+hp. I've got nothing against cool air, but we should try to keep things safe and legal. You will not have any insurance coverage in the event of a collision... you are also waaay more likely to be injured without a primary safetly structure. It's all well and good that you can give an example of how to route the piping and the intercooler placement.... but maybe these are good examples of how not to do things.

This forum's primary goal is to lead people in the right direction while helping. I do not intend on trashing other peoples work, sorry if it seems that way.

Im looking at using a smaller 323 radiator, passing the pipes beside
it and using a Toyota MR2 intercooler were both inlet and outlet
are on the same side of the intercooler ;)

i removed my tow hook on each side so i can pass teh piping there without it being too low/rub on something/customize everything
i changed 3-4 time my piping setup, and i think that this one is by far the simplest most eficient/trouble free one

so, piping straight from the tb to the driver-side towhook, 180* to the intercooler, same thing on the other side, and a 90* up to the compressor houssing

3 bolt on each tow hook,3 bolt on the hood hatch strenghtening bracket
i replaced it by a mild steel 90* from my ketch to my bumper suport beam

so it's still perfectly safe, you can still tow it easely by the cross member, and it gives plenty of space for my gtr skyline intercooler, good thing that the e-bay projector didint had any ajustement screw in the middle, things are tight:P
