Okay, maybe I should find a used B6DE and work on that, I cant use the engine that's in the car because I use it every day :|
But would a turbo be "cheaper" ?, then maybe I should try and find parts for a turbo kit, any idea's of what size turbo I should get
for 150-160Hp without too much turbo lag ?, I can get a new Garret GT2560R pretty cheap would it be too big ?

You want an idy bidy turbo like the factory 80's gtx unit to have good response and not be way over your max power level. Even a small turbo will make it feel super fast as it's biggest advantage is that you get way more torque way sooner!

I found a turbo kit for a SOHC mx-3 at RacingMazda.com - http://racingmazda.com/mx3-turbo.htm
Is the kit worth the money, and will the manifold fit a DOHC

I'm pretty sure thats out of production that they just didn't take it off the site, and no the sohc heads are different.

FYI that kit increases an 82hp motor by 15% (12.3hp) for $2000 so thats $162.60/hp! Very high $/hp ratio for a turbo kit!
