yes there's a special tool you can buy to twist them in but from my experience just get a wrench that will fit in both grooves and turn it in!

Autozone has a nice loaner tool program...pay a deposit, use the tool, then take the tool back and get your money back. They have a tool kit with a big C-clamp for brakes that also has attachments to twist in most caliper pistons. Lots of other parts stores have similar programs.

If you got your rotor that hot there is a good chance you warped it. When you get it put together if you have a shudder while braking you'll have to either replace it again or have it turned.

I don't know if this applies to all years but the 92 rear calipers have an adjusting screw to loosen / tighten the base setting of the calipers that you get to from behind. Per the online manual:
