My g-tech tells me I run a 14.98 ET

Does that count? or do I need an actual timeslip? If so I will have to wait until spring.

btw: Outlaw, your K8 is really fast for not having any power adder(NOS, Turbo, etc) Nice work.

fiero i really dont care about the speed trap ...
im only after the time :D
I am planning to break into the 14' with this :

A real CAI
bored out throttle body
raised gas pressure
Denso Iridium sparks
10mm sparkplug wires
hi-tech clutch

if i dont get into the 14's like this ... blame it on me ... :welder: :confused2:

And you have just a regular K8, nothing done to it really?
I'd really like to see it done. I know my K8 wouldnt come close to it. which i also need a tune up. but never breaking 14's.

to break a 14 just slap slicks on there...tune up... real cai and full exhaust, udp and fidanza

why do u not care bout traps? time isnt exactly what tells how fast ur car is... ur traps tell how fast ur car is...

"The 1.8 L (1845 cc) K8 is among the smallest production V6 engines ever; and also the first K-series engine to be used in a Mazda car (in the Mazda MX-3). It was a DOHC 4-valve design with VRIS and a 75 mm (3 in) bore and 69.6 mm stroke. It produced 130 hp (97 kW) in US trim (sometimes referred to as "K8-DE"), and 135 hp (101 kW) in Japanese trim (the "K8-ZE") on introduction in 1991 and 144 hp (108 kW) and 115 ft·lbf (157 Nm) at its best."
I really thought that there was more torque in the K8ZE ... i mean, it has about 8 more hp than my car, but the torque is the same ... i have 3 more nm ... well this way i doubt about the 14's too ...

ya its like the KL to lol th ZE has about 35more hp but its basically same torque as the DE although the ZE feels quite a bit more torquy overall.. i dunno its gay lol but works

u can get a 14 with a k8 either us or jap spec but ull need some mods real nice mods to do it on street tires but slicks will definitly help alot.. but id rather see a k8 do 100mph traps that would seriously be hard for a k8 n/a to do..

i like the k8 though there fun engines but im just more leniant to the KL cuz they feel alot faster and i like speed lol

I think it was kinda stupid for mazda to even put this slow of a motor in the mx-3. the car's sporty look, but with only 130? ... A DE in a mx-3, I think would be more of a perfect match. I've listened to you guys about the DE's and ZE's but i guess i will never understand what it's like until i actually feel it. It would be more comfortable and easier to throw in the DE because there are tons of pobe motor's here, plus it's cheaper. But, the power of the ZE is whats got me trippin balls. I'd hate to know, I just threw in a DE and still cant beat an h22 prelude. Whatever i choose, i've got to be able to atleast compete against a prelude. You guys were talking about slicks... here's my opinion on that. I think times are better done without slicks, because your not gonna run around on the streets with slicks on, i hope. I can then relate and know differences between other cars, because not all cars run slicks at the track.
