Ever since I read this I've tried to improve my posts, I hope some of the new people would do the same.

i usually try to have decent grammar...but i tend to not capatalize first letters, and i use a lot of "...", and i sometimes have little slip-ups of saying "ur" instead of "you're" or "your".
Never be afraid to try...amateurs built the ark, professionals built the titanic.

i think bad grammar is ok as long as it is understandable; periods are a must. i personally never capitalize any of my letters that would be in an english paper or essay. i don't think anyone caught it yet but "grammer" in the title is spelled "grammar".

Haha ^^^ I noticed that too, lol. I'm also in the same boat with everyone about crappy grammar. I too, have those slip ups now and again, but I really hate it when people don't capitolize the letter/word "I". *cough* neli_nael *cough*

Ever since mooneggs said something a while back about telling someone's age from the way they type, I have tried my best to improve my talkins; Like everyone else, I am human and will always make mistakes.

Also, I do tend to chuck in those hillbilly accents when I feel it is right.
And to cover for SuperK, It is acceptable to start a sentence WIth "And" or "But" if it delivers the intended effect the writer was trying to express.

(Has probably screwed up bad in grammar or spelling on here  )

I remember reading a Digg article talking about how many emails are miscommunicated. I think the same thing goes on forums or anything typed because it's difficult to relay your emotion through typing (unless you are gifted like SuperK  ). I think this is where alot of arguments arise on this forum because of miscommunication OR misinterpretation... and in some cases LOL misinformation

This has to be one of my favorite rants. Stereotyping internet culture.

Why are there stereotypes? Because more-so-than-not, they're TRUE!

Example: Puerto Rican's got FIRE! They're riled up easily! Have you not been able to tell?

This [...] is an ellipsis. It has both a grammatical and narrative use among others.

"An ellipsis in narrative leaves out a portion of the story. This can be used to condense time, or as a stylistic method to allow the reader to fill in the missing portions of the narrative with their imagination."

In mathematics it's used to indicate an abridged series or sequence. i.e. 1, 2, 3, ... , 100. That's where I picked up the habit.

I use it quite a lot as well. If used properly, it's just fine.

I used to use the ellipses a lot, mostly to present a pause, as I would when I'm naturally speaking.

But since an overuse of ellipses deterrs from the particular feeling I attempt to portray, I try exploring...

... oh, I don't know, ma~~~~~ybe some...

...Different... ...metho...

Shut UP! I KNOW(!) they're ALL Ellipses. I couldn't think of a DIFFERENT WAY, OK??!!!

I type how I talk. The ocassional type-o or misspell is my stutter, or lazily slurred speech.
I use ellipses as periods, mainly :)

But wow, I can write a killer english paper if it's due tomorrow

'Bout time someone noticed. I wondered how long it would take, lol. I noticed that I spelled it wrong after I posted. I just left it hoping someone would discover my slip up.
I do mix things up like that. I can never remember some things, but I do not do the "lose" "loose" thing. I don't think I do anyway, haha.

I could go off about this subject, but am choosing not to. My rant would include the downfall of society, and our hopeless youth..
I do, however need to point out the grammatical error of the subject, for posterity; You must have meant to write "spelling", unless your whole subject was written as an ironic example.

If so, kudos!

I can't help it.. I have to say; My G/F is a flight attendant, and she has noticed that kids don't really know how to communicate, and when they try, it has a "internet" bias. That's all I'll say.

Where are we going, and why are we in this handbasket?

Haha, jowljesse, yes, it's all part of the ploy. I mention "bad grammer." the moment I do, there's no "bad grammar" to be had. But there is an issue with the spelling. So I point out the spelling issue with... a bad usage of grammar. So it's kinda something that compliments each other. It's my own little "type saying" that I say often... but most people don't get it.

SuperK does think his rants and stories through, if nothing else.
