i usually drive it like a granny because i go to college and cannot afford to dive crazy all of the time so i shift at about 3k and now am only getting about 450km per tank... i think though thats just because it is winter and i like to let my car warm up before i drive it.

-any suggestions on how to get even better mileage or what is the best rpm to shift at? thanks for all the replies by the way.

you ppl need stop talking about kms per tank of gas as nobody drives until car runs out of gas.

Use L/100km or MPG.

are you really sure 14 year old 1.8 engine uses 7.3L on average :?

It is just too low, even new 1.6 engines use from 7 (highway) to 12 (city) L/100km, granny driving.

Well, I think I drive it, so I know my consumption.. :wink: Keep your engine in perfect condition and you will get something around 7 too. I keep it around 2500 rpm when I drive, sometimes I go above 7000 rpm as well.

I drive moderately on my KLZE, and I get about 150 miles from full to Gas Light On...

I hope changing from the GS ECU/MAF to the MegaSquirt helps out my MPGs! :D

Since i changed the ECU (KF-15 now) i got 9.32L/100km driving it moderate,high rpm aswell, mostly in the city. I use 94 octane.

I am pleased with the result so far, i wait for the trip to Ottawa, to see what i get.

here are some REAL stats: http://www.spritmonitor.de/de/uebersich ... ower_e=200" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

V6 engine with normal mixed driving CAN NOT average around 7L/100km. :roll:

Well, after replacing the muffler, and running some Cheveron Techron thru it, I am getting between 31-32 miles per gallon. Thats NO highway driving, just rural back and forth to work, some stop and go. It gets the same mileage as my Cobalt!

BTW, its a 93 manual 4 banger w/ 153,xxx miles on the clock.

(650km/47L) = 7.2L/100km hwy (500km/47L) = 9.4L/100km city with a modded bpt @ 12psi
was 6.5L/100km hwy (750km for 47L) and 8.9L/100km city with the b6

I average 8.5L/100km driving it like I stole it, shifting from 2nd straight to 4th in town and therefore winding out 2nd. But I don't go more than 10-30kph over the speed limit THAT uses gas cause you are boosting alot.

This is in a 93 323 (which I'm swapping its parts into a gs) for reference
