I'm theoretically there...tracks don't open back up for atleast another month or two around here. You guys that have tracks year round...I ENVY you!!!!

At 22psi and a stop light take off (didn't even try to launch) I trapped 130mph with street tires, open diff, a very conservative timing map, and my wife n I both in the car. We were projecting my car should have been running 10.7's or faster @ 22 psi. I now have the LSD in and am currently retuning the old Haltech E6K for race season. Shooting for low 10's or faster on street tires. I've been running 24-26psi on pump gas. I also need to hook up the scramble boost switch and move my 2step to the clutch or a momentary switch....I'm hoping to get the cage, bottle, & parachute on by the end of this coming race season, hopefully with a twin disc from SPEC. I'm currently running a single disc Clutchnet setup rated at 600lb/ft of torque. At 22-24psi I was slipping the old ACT/Clutchnet combo rated at 485lb/ft of torque. My car is still street legal as well...even here in the Comunist...I mean Common Wealth of Virginia.

Rafi, you've got good numbers for your setup...good job! Just looking at your 60' times though I think you can squeak 10.30's-10.50's out of her though. Loose some tire pressure and practice hard on your 60' times...no more mods needed you'll be there....if not, double your injector size and switch to methanol then advance the timing a bit and you got low 10's no problem.

Well done Boosted_Rafi, I am hoping some other guys with the turbo MX3 get some dyno numbers and official 1/4mile times also so we can see what they are doing.

Personally I am trying to get my car into the low 14sec range consistently or possibly high 13s.

If you have an Bp engine, you can make it with sotck internals with street tires. I think i need to sell my exhaust manifold who fits in the BP engine

For the cage look to Jegs. They have cages that are made for the RX-7's that I believe will work in the MX-3's, possibly with no mods as they fit the 2nd through 3rd Gen RX-7's. They offer 4,8,10,&12 point versions ranging from $130USD to $270USD. They do require assembly (cutting and welding) as they come with a little extra length on the tubes for custom fitting but are prebent making it easy to do for anyone who can cut and weld tube.

P.S.

For traction...have you upgraded all your front suspension bushings to the SRD hard bushings? They make a BIG differance. You'll need the trans crossmember busings & control arm bushings. They basically make traction bars unneeded. I also recommend all their shifter bushings as they make shifting a LOT more positive!

I think that beat Dave Lauzier's record... right?
That does beat his MX-3 but not his current FE3 powered Protege.
If it wasn't for transmission issues and lack of the proper gear ratios for a turboed car he should have been knock on the 9sec door. These days Mazda does make a FWD tranny that can handle the kind of torque his old 585+hp BP and his new near 1000hp FE can put out.

But, when he got 585whp, he cant run his car? Here in PR, a friend of mine have a BP engine in a BG 323 and he got 608 whp only boost (10.4 @ 138mph street car) and he blew a few trannys, but he can run his car. Another one have a 323 who runs 9.8 146 mphwith his turbo/NOS and other one with FS engine runs 9.7 147mph.

lol. There is no replacement for displacement. If you took a ZE with similar modifications and put some forged rods and pistons in it you could get some similar if not better numbers. Just no one has taken the time to do it. People like this guy have the right idea.
