We would also need the total legnth of the splined shaft, from the cup to the end of the shaft. From the left of A to the right of B.

Can someone comfirm these faqs for me?

So as I understand
There are only 2 different types of transmissions that come with LSD for the MX3 (k series trannies), right? Only two? What cars do they come out of?
And you cant use the axels from a normal MTX without LSD on a LSD tranny?

So, from what I understand, Mazda nor Ford sale axels for the LSD transmissions anymore, right?

Stupid question,
Do Automatic transmissions need LSD if they have a torque converter?

And last question,
If I was to have a MTX and I bought the Mazda Speed LSD or say the Qualife LSD diff, would I still need custom axels or can I use the axels out of the MTX tranny?

sorry guys I've been busy working and when I'm not working, driving the car for pretty much the first time in over a year.

Option from jspec (getting harder to find especially w/ shafts still atatched) believe it or not I found more ATX lsd's than MTX

Unfortunately since I have limited tools and nowhere to work on the car I have to pay a shop to do this stuff for me and I only got to see them out of the car for about 5 minutes. I asked them to take quick simple measurements and spline count, but of course they didn't. I've asked for measurments from Frank (DSS) and the shop about a million times. Frank is going to be our only hope for exact measurements. I plan on contacting him shortly (once I'm sure these are fully working) to see if he will give me the measurements he said he would.
For approximate measurements I can tell you that:
C is the aditional length needed and is the same measurement for both stock and jspec about 5/16". A + B is the lenth of stock mx3 shaft. A is approx 2 11/16". B is approx 1 1/4". These are just approximates right now until I contact Frank for the exact. Sorry for the crappy SAE measurements for the other 90% of you that use metric.

With the lsd there is no torque steer. It launches like a bat outta hell.

There are different geared open differential trannies from mx6,ProbeGT,mx3 and I think a couple other cars. Its kinda unknown how many different lsd trannies there are. I have 2 of them and the shafts are NOT interchangable, so????
And you cant use the axels from a normal MTX without LSD on a LSD tranny?
I was not able to use stock axles but it sounds like others have

So, from what I understand, Mazda nor Ford sale axels for the LSD transmissions anymore, right?
They never did, lsd trannies were never released as a factory option for any US mx3, mx6, or PGT.

All ATX have torque converters, its kinda like a clutch. There are lsd ATX available.

And last question,
If I was to have a MTX and I bought the Mazda Speed LSD or say the Qualife LSD diff, would I still need custom axels or can I use the axels out of the MTX tranny?
Someone else will have to answer this for one, but I believe you can use stock shafts. I've heard though that something has to be welded due to a pin falling out???

Please correct me if any of this is wrong but it should all be correct

Most of your questions have been answered 2 to 3 months back with some very detailed and explicit information. A search will get you there.
Oh hell, here you go, a just in case we're a little search challenged .... LOL;

Thanks ruthless, that has been most helpful!

The measurements concur with one i did for a race crowd many moon's
ago, who where very hush hush as to what lsd was in the car.
so this appears to be a factory LSD as the mazspeed one works on
standard axles as that is what i have and it all fits together!
