Tunes you jumped the gun on me :)

I was gonna ask if one of your valve retainers broke. happens to alot of people with ZEs over-reving. When we built my ZE, we used DE retainers because they are alot thicker...

alright. i'll go with Non-Interference then.
I was close to getting a timing belt right now.
but if it's non-interference then I'll wait till it breaks.
Mine better not do anomalies.

what would be the logic behind waiting until it snaps....

have to pay for a tow job.. could be when ur going to work or need to be somewhere on time.... never fun... leaves u without a car until u can get the parts ordered if need be and get it into the mechanic... also if ur at high rpms may possibly damage ur vehicle???

News Flash: the 1.8L V6 is an Interference engine.

my mechanic showed me in their big manual of all timing-belt specifications for all sorts of different cars. For the Mazda MX-3, it clearly stated in a paragraph that the 1.8L V6 is an interference engine.

its a missprint. This was disscussed years ago. the book your mechanic is looking at is wrong.

Having been inside the K8 and the B6DE engines personally.. I will reitterate.. they are both Non Interference engines. As are all unmodded KL series engines.
