The things that work are cleaners, or octane boosters. Don't add anything to your oil, unless it's as a flush, and you don't actualy drive with it. The things that make more HP as oil additives just thin the oil, and that's not good. Most octane boosters are just Toluene, which you can get at paint stores, and alot of injector cleaners are Acetone, which you can get anywhere. I've been putting Acetone in my gas for about 4 years, for 3 extra MPG.

I've followed the thread on acetone and I've seen a nice can in the paint section of my local Crappy Tire. What ammount do you use and how do you get it in there? I would be tempted to use a syringe. I can come across those easy.... Hey, not heroin, I'm in farmerville.

I was on a fluid analogy course and the instructor showed us this web site. I don't do additives anymore. Even though I've been a Duralube fan for years, even spoke with Floyd Stebeck their Tech Rep (you may of seen him in their advertisement). I use to do aircraft oil analogy but I also got into checking oil samples from my co-workers cars. Metal wear trends did seem to come down after the second oil change after using Duralube. Duralube is really good a cleaning out your engine sludge too.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Yeah bobistheoilguy is great.
I use about 1.8 oz. of Acetone. It seemed that 2 3/4 per 10 gallons worked for my 1.8L, but now I just suck up about 2 squeezes of a Turkey baster :) By the time I put my finger over the end, to keep it from dripping out, it's just shy of 1 oz. Just squeeze it into the tank, and then fill up. When I forget to put it in, I get about 2-3 MPG less.
One of these days, I'm going to try Toluene for Octane booster.

I recommend you NOT use lucals oil stabilizer. On my boyz ze. It made the oil turn milky(not headgasket) and there was sludge. Engine go boom at hgigh rpms. Lucals oil stabilizer killed my old 4 cyl gm 2.5 engine too.

Acetone.
I hollowed my Cat, because it was clogged, and passed emissions, using 3 oz of Acetone. It burns clean.
