I'm still waiting to hear back from FunkyBuddha, but on the Protege board on the Mazdaforum, people are starting to think maybe September would be better. August is closing in quick, Sept should be less busy with school being back in etc....I'll keep you posted as I discover anything.

I guess that's what happens when you agree to let them do all the planning. Glen (Funkybuddha) hasn't returned any of my emails either. I'm not sure what's going on. If we don't here anything by mid-august, we better step up to the plate and tell them it will be at the same location as last year.

I think making our own plans is a great idea. But how about a trip to Drumheller and back? Cool pics!!

It's a good idea, but it will have to be under a different event. Maybe we can plan that for September or something.

I think we should have it on that date regardless of the other clubs. We could post it for everyone though and if they show, great. Even if just MX-3's came out, it would still be fun.

Well we still need to coordinate with other clubs. The sad truth with any sort of meet event is that 75% of those who say they are coming, do not show. So if it was only going to be MX-3s, then it would probably only be 3 or 4 cars unless we got lucky. Most people want to show, simply for the fact that there will be many other cars too. It's in our best interests to have the other clubs agree with the date and location.

Let's keep hounding them. Who knows how much good weather we have left. When we went to the Fort on Saturday, the SRT-4 club was heading out of Edmonton. Looked cool, like Kelowna, as they had between 20-25 cars all different colors.

I setup the Mazda in the Mountains 2006 date for Saturday, Sept 2nd. All other groups and clubs are updating their calendar accordingly.

Here's the battle plan:
Mazda in the Mountains 2006
Saturday, September 2nd

Pre-meet location - Canada Olympic Park @ 11:30am
Depart for Cruise to Bowvalley @ 12:30pm
MITM at Bowvalley (Whitefish location) 1:30pm to around 4:00pm

If people want to do other things after Bowvalley, it can be desided at the meet. For those that have never been to that location. There is a bit of a private parking area for all the Mazdas. Along the side there is a nice strip of grass for anyone wanting to have a little picnick or just sit and chill. The lot runs along the edge of river and if anyone wants to take a nice chilly dip is more than welcome to. Jen knows all about that. There is an excellent view of some nearby Mountains which go with the MITM theme perfectly.

Hopefully we see you all there.

That sounds cool as long as the "indian bus tour" isn't staying for the day!!! Is this a different location than what we went into before?

Nope, same location. I'm going to make a point to bring more stuff to snack on this time.

Just received email from MX6 guy. It's posted there and will round up members from there for the 2nd of September. It is also posted on the beyond forum. They thought it was cancelled this year!

Here's a question. Is it open to ANY Mazda, or just to the assorted clubs? I ask 'cause a friend of mine just picked up a '90 Miata and is loving the whole Mazda experience. I'm sure he'd like to know about this event...

Mark, it's open to any and all Mazda owners. I posted a date on the Beyond.ca forum and people their are interested.
