It depends on if anyone was there to see the balls falling. :P

Kinda hard to reach 150 when the tranny runs out of gearing at about 140 or jsut before. I have a ze mx and i cant reach 150 because im in 5th gear redline(or just about) at 137-138.

I believe the 150 is possible with the MX6/626 tranny and delete rev limiter with a rechip or Megasquirt.

tatsu already posted figures for top speeds. Now, how quickly the MX-3 reaches point A to point B as compared to the probe should be a declining figure starting at 4% (estimated by tastu) while both cars travel to reach top speed!

So we'll need to specify the total distance before we can calculate the distance between the two cars and who's in front! :driver:

Man I like this stuff :!: Good question. :D

Umm...no it won't not with stock tires and tranny. Doesn't matter the power it has, its in the gearing. My Mx-3 wanted to go fatser but couldn't, and i had a 205/50-15 tire/rim combo. ~139 MPH was the limit at 7000 RPM

Now that i got a bigger rim/tire combo, i can go fasterbut i have yet to try it.

redlines at 7000 but rev limit at 7800 :P

Everyone has their own opinion about where the rev limit is.

If you go past 7000 RPM at high speed, that idiotic. A ZE does not make power anywhere near that.

the fact is that we are approx 350 lbs lighter with approx 4% more torque, so we'd accelerate much faster. in a drag race, we'd win almost for sure. however, in a long distance race they would for sure because they would have a slightly higher max speed because of tire size.

Staying in the power band is more important tnah being able to rev up to 7K+ rpm.

in the real world..., the difference would be sweet FA, certainly nothing that a good driver couldn't overcome..... still, it'd be interesting to see!

as for the top speed...., staying in the power band isn't necessary, just as long as the car is producing enough power to overcome resistance..., and on that note..., which has the taller gearing, auto or manual?
