Hmm, well that does kinda make me feel better about the origin of my engine, because I definitely have the KL01 cams. I'm not sure what could be "bad" with the engine, to make it not put out the power it should, but run fine otherwise. Wouldn't we have other symptoms? I used to think it was running in a limp mode or something, but I've also tried several ECUs, with no real difference (other than idle issues and VRIS changes). Don't get me wrong - the car is quick, a lot quicker than the K8, but it's just not what I expected.

You probably need to fix that puppy up. tuning is the name of the game. Simple things from cleaning the interior of your TB to changing pully's can make your ZE run fast. Remember that engines never work at 100% efficiancy and deminishing the efficiancy is easy too. I would pull off your TB and clean that. It's a little time consuming but can make a word of difference!

EDIT: Has anyone tried that chip on ebay? For 50 bones I don't think it would hurt....

Check your cat converter, might be plugged up. Compression test also might give you an idea where your lost power might be going.
