Yeah mine burns about the same amount. These engines suck!!! At this point, there is not really much you can do to help. I am after trying oil additives and they only help for a week or so. So dont even waste your money on anything, just keep the oil topped off until you can get a 2.5.

ikarus1 I would like to disagree with you in using a diesel type oil , only because the fact they have more detergents in them , eating seals much faster in a gasoline engine and over time making the problem worse.

If your engine is currently that bad (2 quarts every tank) Then I would reccomend using a higher viscocity high milage oil. Maybe 15w40- or 20w40 This will help in the means in which it is thicker so much less will pass through . You may have a small loss of power (heavier oil equals more friction -the good kind) But you will see parasitic loss from the fact that the motor has to work harder to churn the oil.
If you are getting a new engine anyways , this is the only way I can see you saving some money because in terms you will have to buy less oil because it burns less.

As for you guys wanting KLDE engines , I may be getting my hands on some in a short while and may be looking to get rid of them quite cheap , but I will keep you updated on that ..
