2 things.

about Pat's comment : I think teh rear swaybar diameter changed in 94. 92-93 are smaller IIRC

A guy in the mx-3quebec forum did some research.
Happened that the 86 Rx7 (FC3S) rear swaybar is a direct bolt on on our mx3's and so are the coils and struts. Weird huh

now I am not sure myself, but if everything is the same then other possibilties are open to us 8)

Jeremy, were you given a quote as to shipping fees. The reason I ask is I just got a rather second hand email in response to a query I sent requesting my order number since it wasn't listed in the paypal transaction. In a round about way it was mentioned that there was going to be an additional fee of 45.80usd for shipping to Canada. Extremely high for something that isn't that big or heavy. Anyone else been given this notice too?? Smells like good old ebay rip-off shipping fees. Kinda nice to spring that on me after they've already got the $179.99usd to begin with. Is this normal businees dealings with this ZX2 Racing Firm?? Guess I'll have to wait for the official notification or insight from you guys. Thanks.

fieromx3 wrote:so it says it will fit the protege/escort and zx2. so if that 1 bar will fit all of these can u use a front swaybar for the protege and escort to fit on an mx-3 i asked this question b4 but no one gave me a straight up answer
You can swap the (BG) 323/ Protege front anti roll bar into a MX-3 and vis versa. The attachment point on the firewall and distance from the firewall to Control arms are identical. The only thing I've even had to fabricate swapping the anti roll bars back and forth is if you install a (BG) 323 in a MX-3 is the end links with a rod end for the A-arm and bushing for the bar. Or the reverse if you were to use a MX-3 front bar in a 323. For handling there is not much point is increase the diameter of the front anti roll bar unless you are trying to increase understeer in which case you would be better of balancing out the handling by playing with the rear bar set up instead.

The stock anti-roll bars are 22mm front and 20mm rear, according to the online manual...

A 22mm rear bar is not visually much larger than the stock 20mm (for you non-metric guys, the 2mm difference is a little more than 1/16"), but it does make a significant difference in handling balance.

Thanks Legato626 for the info and link to the upgraded rear bar. Looks very nice esp for the price and that it includes the drop/endlinks is outstanding. I must have one 8) Order going in today.

Oops. Yup.

Haven't ordered this sway bar yet cuz something was bothering me & I finally remembered what it was. I recall reading something by Vaughn Nishimura a few years back where he swapped in a significantly beefed up rear sway bar and bushings on his MX-3 (SOHC RS model I think). Anyway, I remember seeing something about the additional collateral stresses on the rear suspension causing Vaughn to have to reinforce "something" via additional bracing and welding.

I've searched my bookmarks and files but can't locate Vaughn's write-up. Could have been on his old Webpage under the title of "Suspension" or similar heading or might have been on his MX-3 yahoo discussion group. Anyone else recall any of Vaughn's info on this or maybe I'm just losing it?????

Yoda, maybe you can set me straight if ya see this.
