Now that I've gotten through the hassle of actually GETTING a set of these, I have a question about them which is, how durable/resistant are these covers by themselves against rock chipping and such?
Should I apply on some rock guard or 3M film of some sort or will they hold up on their own?

A 3M type of film might be a good idea but because of the numerous contours you going to have to source something unique. Keeping them clean and with a good coat of wax should do wonders. If these are intended for Tatsu's projectors, then these are just an added protection factor for those projectors. They themselves (the projectors) are designed for exterior use per say. These are the reasons you're getting them right? .. or are you going to try your own projector project?

Most Tint stores can order the GTS ones for you.
The availability of them depends on where you are located, some areas have lots of them other areas don't.
The Clear GTS ones are hard to find, not that many were ever made.

Yes, John, I ordered these covers in anticipation of Tatsu's projectors. I'd rather not have that "front cover" that's going on top of the lights to be chipped away at, especially if they're going to be chrome plated so I'm trying to get some protection for them once I realized that these projectors were not going to be protected by the OEM lens covers. As far as sourcing out the film coating as an additional protective layer, I believe a good tint place would be able to apply the film properly for me...jschrauwen wrote:A 3M type of film might be a good idea but because of the numerous contours you going to have to source something unique.
