- starter interlock switch which is in series with the starter motor and prevents the starter motor engaging unless the clutch is pressed
- clutch switch and neutral switch. These 2 are in parallel with each other and if the gar is in neutral OR the clutch is pressed it sends a ground polarity to the ECU. These will NOT prevent the starter motor from engaging.
This is from jschrauwen:Clutch being depressed as an indication to the ecu that gear selection is eminent and therefore will generate a higher idle by about 200rpm to compliment. This works in concert with neutral switch.
If the BROWN / YELLOW wire that runs to your clutch switch and neutral swith has ground polarity, the car is in neutral so you could pick up a signal there. They go to terminal 1R on the ECU.I was hoping that the neutral switch had a wire that put out a ground or 12v signal whenever the car is in neutral. If that is the case then I can easily interface it with my remote start so that it will only activate when recieving that 12v or ground signal indicating the car is not in gear
