Same here :)
Also, I cant do an engineswap due to legal problems in Norway. I`d have to get it approved, and that involves paying taxes for the increased volume and effect.. in total around $6000 USD (excluding engine and work etc)

But with a turbokit, I could remove the kit for my testings :)

I dont know, but I think having turbo kits would kinda suck. I would rather design and build my own kit (picking and matching parts) and making it all work, than buying a 5000$ kit and bolting it on. The whole originality factor is what drives my idea. I plan on going F/I and dont want 10000 other MX3s to have turbos too. Once a kit comes out then you'll have every ricer with an MX3 buying one and its no longer special.

this is sooo exactly my thoughts...couldn't say it better than that...nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment and doing things like YOU want it and picking the parts YOU want and have somthing that no other have

if that is true then there must already be 10000 sohc mx3's with turbo kits cause they already have that kit....last i checked, there aren't.
... it seems like a good reason to not buy a kit would simply be to build a better / more reliable / cheaper kit cause it costs a lot less to do it yourself.... however some people (both kids and adults) don't know enough to do their own kit so it would be best to buy one prefabed and pay to have it installed. i think its great we have a kit coming out. i will still be piecing together my own... but i am sure there are some people out there who would love to have a kit they could simply buy.

I could be wrong, but I take pride in knowing whats going on in my car. I spent the whole year reading books, mx-3.com FAQ, probe-talk, mx-3quebec.com and many other resources so I could do my own swap. I would rather do it myself than pay some shmuck to do it for me.

Same would go for any F/I setup I plan on doing.

For those of you who were asking about a manifold for the 1.6 SOHC.

Check out JGS Precision Turbo.

You have to be handy, or know someone that is, to take advantage of this kit.

actually we could very easily have a turbo kit for the dohc... racingmazda.com wants to make one but has no one to test on... the last car they had got totalled after they finished so they have to redo it.. i was going to let them use mine but couldn't come up with $2000 plus the money to drive down there fly back to chicago and back to texas again to pick the car up... so if someone can come up with the money and will loan them the car for 2 or 3 weeks you will end up with a kit that is supposed to push over 200 whp .... they will be selling the kit for around $2900 though but it comes with absolutely everything you would need for turbo including a standalone
