Re: club meet sunday april 13/2003
beats me bro, you know the common ticking sound our engines make? it somehow escalated into ticks and clacks like there was no more tommorow (usually i add a little oil and it will go away, didnt this time for some reason). it got a lot worse as the rpms got higher, i was driving it home (on my street luckily) and a little bit after i threw it into third (there was barely ANY power) it shuddered pretty hard, stalled, and started smoking. i popped the hood to see what was going on and it looked like it was oil on the engine guard thing at the bottom near the front bumper. not sure if its totally f*cked yet, but im assuming the worst... im so glad i have the extra 2.5 sitting around tho lol

Re: club meet sunday april 13/2003
lol holy ****. I had that ticking too, it's the cam shaft friction gear. I got an authorized Mazda dealership to fix it though. It cost me something like C$1100.00 to fix it :\, im sure glad i fixed it after hearing this lol.
I should have put down another C$2500.00 or so and dropped in a KL-ZE. But i wasn't active on the forums at that point and i didn't know
.
P.S: I managed to take a few pics of the meet before my ****in' batteries died lol. I'll have them up in a couple days.
[ April 14, 2003: Message edited by: zytariuk ]

Stories like this make me wonder if I should put an engine swap higher on the priority list.
