oh and about the second matrix, i think thats very true.. i mean look at this:
there were those people holding keys who can go into those hallways in little warp doorways.. the script mentioned the group stealing a keymaker that had keys to every door inside 'machine city's compound'... and im guessing the architect room is a part of the compound. i mean it was all white like the other hallways and the only people who had access to it were programs (like the keymaker who admitted he was supposed to die and that asian guy who was a program protecting the oracle)
now when he was in the architect's room, he could either go left or right.. left to rebuild zion in the 'real' world aka matrix 1.. or right to go in the matrix and save trinity aka matrix 2.. get it? so that room might be inside of machine city's compound as well.. that whole second matrix would make sense if that were true.

For those who didn't sit thru the credits and see the trailer for Revolutions, here is the trailer. It uses quicktime.
The Matrix Revolutions Trailer

trailer looks so cool.....here sumtin that i found that sums up what i was thinkin...
Here we go". We have all met people that didn't like the first Matrix. A lot of them when asked why they didn't like it-- they respond with "I didn't understand it"... and truth be told-- I didn't fully understand Reloaded fresh out of the theater.
For those of you who felt disappointed about reloaded... what would your take be on the movie if I proposed that Neo, when in the real world, was still in a computer controlled program? Thus the confused prisoner statement at the top of this review.
Morpheus states (in the 1st Matrix film) that the matrix was built to keep the human race under control. What better way to control them- than by giving them the illusion that they are free from control? The rebels (once free'd) accept what they are seeing in the quote unquote 'real world' as REAL. If the computers created a "Matrix" Matrix and a "Real World" Matrix-- that is the TOTAL control. No real free minds at all. Just minds that are under the impression that they are free. Morpheus tells Neo in the first Matrix installment "You have to let it all go Neo... fear... doubt... and disbelief. Free your mind." But then all the rebels put limits on just how FREE they allow their minds to get. That's why the rebels in the "Real World" all have the same powers as the unplugged humans still in the Matrix program. They can't jump hundreds of feet in the "Real World". They can't kill Sentinels with they're bare hands.
Neo on the other hand-- is that 1% out of that 99.9% that doesn't put limits on his mind (unlike the 5 that came before him). After meeting with the architect, Neo "doesn't accept the programing"- that's why when he returned to the quote unquote "Real World" he noticed something different. And if you pay attention to Neo's last bit of dialogue in the first Matrix installment, he says to the matrix on the phone: "I can feel you now. I know you're out there." The same thing is said at the end for reloaded. Neo looks at Trinity and says "I can feel them". Then he stops the sentinels in a very similar fashion that he stopped the bullets in at the end of part one once he's made the realization.
God this movie is sooo good! This theory somewhat also explains why Agent Smith can take over a rebel and act as the rebel in the "Real World". If you go back to what Morpheus said in agent training program in the 1st matrix: "They can move in and out of any software still hardwired to their system" similar to how Agent smith continues to move into a rebels. In the first moive-- he was bound by rules so he only moved through human within the matrix... but now that he's a rogue agent and follows his own rules... he moves through humans in the "Real World" Matrix. Because they are still all hardwired to a system (in theory). After 24 hours... I'm ready to rate the movie a 9.5 . Point five higher than the first movie.
This should be enough in-between the line theory jazz to get all the people who thought the 2nd one wasn't as deep as the 1st-- back into the theaters with some excitement. I didn't see part 3 or anything. Just after talking with people and banging heads and thinking about my review-- it seems this is where the subconscious film is located at. I'm sure this has been talked about in some form or another on this site but I check this thing daily and haven't seen it so here goes the sWoosh version
Take that hand off of that mouse, put it in your wallet and consider that 6$ Wachowski's money!
aj

Its funny that you mentioned this, and it makes so much sense. I read several reviews on this movie, actually I only read all of the negative reviews, and the only reason they were negative is cause they were rating the things that were only put into the movie to keep the people uninterested in plot growth in the building. The common complaint of "fight scenes being to long", "boring dialogue", yet the critics didn't even understand the plot. They were there only paying attention to what the Wachowski brothers stuck in the film to keep the action movie goers in there seats. The whole movie was to develope the plot and setup the 3rd movie. Yet people don't seem to get this and only look at the special effects and then insult the movie. Its supposed to get you to think.
[ May 21, 2003: Message edited by: 992mmx3 ]

ive beaten the game for gamecube yesterday and there is a lot more footage of the movie and revolutions. the story seems much more clear. the game takes place right after the first movie and then ends when matrix reloaded ends.. it ties into the movie perfectly. also, check out some of the animatrix dvds where you can watch how the machines first took over and watch final flight of the osirus which will help introduce reloaded a bit more as well.

wow after reading this post over ive come to the conclusion that we're all nerds. oh well at least its not dungeons & dragons or pokemon or something.
anyway i saw part 1 again and isn't it overwhelming to think how the little spark of AI created the matrix and all of the machines/cornfields? also where do they get the humans to put in the cornfields besides the ones living on earth before... did they grow them?
another question: how did tank die? the sister mentioned tank and dozer dying in the nebuchanezzer, but i thought tank survived from the first movie.
have you guys noticed that neo is a anagram of 'one'.. example just rearrange neo to get the 'one'.
i heard on other forums that trinity might be the 'one' since she was able to bring neo back to life from the real world and since the oracle told neo he wasn't the one.
when neo stopped those sentinels, he said he noticed 'something is different'.. i think its cause he realized that the real world is actually a matrix in itself?
some rumors ive heard: matrix will still exist after revolutions ends and that people can still jack into the matrix.
if animatrix is successful, there might be a matrix forever in 2006 (sounds more like matrix reformatted).
smith seems to have grown strong as neo when they punch each other, they both fly pretty far apart.
and when smith was found in a coma inside the rebel's body, did he stop the sentinels that demolished those 5 ships? kinda like how neo went into the SAME EXACT coma as the other rebel when he stopped the sentinels himself?

sorry people. matrix within a matrix is bull. read and weep. http://webpages.charter.net/btakle/matrix_reloaded.html
after reading that explanation... im guessing there is a bigger power or force behind the architect (satan imprisoning humans)... such as god.. sending 'the one' into the matrix without the architect's consent.. since they never really explained HOW the 'one' man was born in the matrix. since the movie is symbolic and religious.. it seems that neo was sent into the matrix just as god sent jesus onto earth to slay satan.
