.First off i dont really agree with some of this. an mx-3 is a light @$$ car, meaning the torque/weight ratio (how quick ur car is) is what makes this car fsat at all. so when u say that u shouldnt see a difference in putting on intake i thats where i disagree. for example putting intake on thats nice, and adding like 4 to 10 horsepower is like adding 35 to a trans am. i mean thats what makes are cars fast, the lightness. thats what speed and quickness is based on, but if you want some loud intake and a definite change in performance, the weopon r is bad@$$. also if you have some $hitty intake, attach it to the end of where the stock was, after the mafs (mass air flow sensor) and let it go down almost to the bottom right near the bottom of the fans. the longer the intake, the deeper the sound, and also the closer you get it to where air will be easily accesed the better.

ya bro i think you are crazy adding a CAI to our engines wont make 10 hp lol.

my friend added one to his h22 lude and it added about 15 cause its a larger engine and makes more power to begin with.
as for our cars being light ya they are but they arent the lightest things on the road.

the intake just helps out because it allows cold ai to reach the engine, cold air is denser thus more oxygen and thus better performance. plus it takes away all of the restrictions on teh stock intake such as the water drain and all those othe rplaces where the air can go before it reaches your engine.
its a good first mod but dont expect massive gains

the weird thing is that when i instaled my air filter on my car, i put a cone style filter at along with an adapter to where the "box" was bolted on to the mass air sensor, i noticed a nice little gain in all aroung power. the top end was alot better, the pickup was noticibly improved, i dont know what was up with it. the filer in the "box" that was in there was brnad new (only 200 miles on it) and the tube that went to it was clean. i dont know but it was a great mod.

i didnt say just ten, i said 4 to 10 which is reasonable.....lol. i was just trying to get the point across to the guy that the littlest mods can help are cars becaue the are so light. thats what i meant about the whole weight/torque ratio. i didnt mean that any intake would add 10, but 4 to 10 is reasonable.

Hahaha...The intake does make a noticeable difference, especially to those living in colder winter environments. BUT...Don't make me suggest the maf resistor and electric supercharger mods!!!...
They're good for at Least 20-30 HP...
Does anyone remember where the post with the computer case fan is?
