it's weird how u had to shave your slave cylinder(i think thats what it was) cause i talked to derrick at corksport and he said hes never had that problem and tubroge said the same thing

No you don't have to shave the slave cylinder release rod. I have the MX-3 slave on my Pro-LX drive train. If anything the release rod needs to be lengthened because it just BARELY releases. I'm swapping in the Pro-LX slave to see if there is any difference, but when I got the slave it didn't come with the release rod so I haven't tried it yet. Still using the MX-3's for now.

i had to shorten my slave cyl. rod about a 1/4in. because the clutch would not fully engage. it was like it was bottoming out keeping pressure on the clutch fork. what i'm starting to wonder is if it's possible the mx3 and the 93 protege lx cluth forks have a different angle to them. also not sure if it had something to do with the pressure plate. for those of you using the ACT clutch kit, is it for the protege? mine is for the mx6 which holds more tq but is supposed to fit the same. not sure. i still have my old slave cyl rod from the mx3(same size as the protege) so when it's time to replace the clutch, i'm going to look more into it.

Hey guys I put the BP 1.8 DOHC in mine late last summer. As far as performance boost, can't compare, because my 1.6 engine was blown when I bought it. The performance is great, 1st thru 2nd rubber, and smooth and quick to over 100mph! As for easiness to install. It was as easy as putting in another 1.6! I used my mx-3 tranny, and just had to use the mx-3 flywheel and clutch. Later A.J.

the pictures didnt focus wvery well most are blurry but the clutch forks are both very diffrent and are not the same angels
