carbon fiber isnt heat resistant. i remember doing an old c/f project and we had to take big precautions to protect it from heat. its not a smart idea to mix c/f with electrical purposes either. most of the resins used to harden the c/f are very flammable. if youre interested in those c/f intakes though, i think they were from jcwhitney or summitracing.

if i get a civic intake and cut it how much do i cut off and how do i put it on?

on mine, i cut about 4 inches from the long end and it fit perfectly.

All plastics are flamable (though flash points vary). Most resins give off a lot of VOCs till they're cured. So you have to be careful with all plastics.<P>Sorry I'm not up on motorcylce termonology, but what's a 'can'? <P>CF Heat conductance from an internet spec sheet=50 w/mk. That's pretty high, not as high as most metals though. Fiberglass intakes are the way to go then, unless you boost & intake temp is above ambiant engine compartment temp. (glass k=0.8, alluminum k=238 (W/mC))...
