50 pre-wired white LED's.

And I took a phone photo of the flooding that is happening. This road is still open, but many are not. Should have peaked a few days ago, but I haven't been far from home for awhile.

Fully balanced. Pistons must be re-assembled, and then I'm ready to build it.

Gonna be egay 2.25" headers, straight 2.25" back to this. Speed shop guy convinced me I won't sound like rice.

So for now I'm going to run a stock oil pan. I have a spare, and I'll be working in the cooler and some baffles, but I just want to get this thing built already....

That muffler's going to be LOUD! With no cat and no pre-silencer it's going to be really loud I bet.

If it is.... I'll throw the 30" cherry bomb in the part of the exhaust that runs longitudinally across the car, just before it hops over the rear suspension.

The guy said Magnaflow is one of the only companies who put thought into acoustics and fluid dynamics, and that the angle of the tube in the muffler is just enough to catch the sound without causing the restriction of a U bend or something similar.

I guess I'll see.

I am running a similar Magnaflow muffler with an 18" resonator and I find mine a bit too loud. Last year I picked up a pre-sinlencer and a hi-flow cat to replace the resonator to hopefully quiet it a bit.

It sounds good but it's a bit too loud.

Avoid the pain, install a Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator.

Listen here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MENTfOn8 ... re=related :D
I switched back and forth between with and without as he accelerated. The Vibrant seems to take the edge off. I will say the guys car does sound a bit like a bee buzzing by.

If it sounds like that, I'll be more than pleased.

Okay, so now I'm thinking.

I have these KLDE heads... port matched to the curve neck, lots of hours in them.

but I want an 8k valve train with .355/210 colt cams.... I already have interpreps, as you see...

So I have access to a cheap set of KLG4 heads. $40 for the pair, loaded. Love my JY.

Should I build a set of SLA heads, interpreps, Colts?

But build the motor for now with the (stock) KLDE heads...

NO, Go BIG or Go HOME!...

If you don't do it now and have the money they will sit for ever until you decide one day in the distant future to do it. If you do it now then you don't have to pull it apart later to redo it creating extra steps.

so, do it all at once and enjoy the heck out of it. my 2 cents

The thing is, I don't have the money for it, really. School.... and an hour commute each way with gas at a buck n a quarter...

They had a group buy thing last year on Probetalk I thought. Maybe there's still a deal on price from that. I know you ship them your cams and it was like $300 or less.
If my ZE doesn't show even numbers across the board this week when I check it I'll be parting it out, (ZE cams) :D

From the clip it looks identical to the one I had on my 96. I really liked the sound. But with no resonator it's not going to be that quiet, no way.

Build SHOULD start this sunday.... I'll take some pictures.

I'm keeping the KLDE heads for now. I don't mind swapping heads, its not a big deal for me. I plan to perhaps remove this engine from whatever car it goes into in 3 or 4 months anyway, for winter.

Maybe I'll build a SLA set over winter, since oct -> feb is when I have the most free time.
