Re: ive been skipping class a lot lately
man i hear ya. it seems harmless at first but in the long run you'll pay. i've dropped already like 3 or 4 classes since 1 1/2 years ago. i think colleges have this problem all the time, but its funny how they never try to solve it.. i guess they only want people who try really really hard.

They don't care if you show up or not. You have already payed them to go, whether your there or not. They know that if you want to get a degree, you'll be back, and infact, you end up paying them more for getting a degree, and I think they like that. That's probable why they don't do anything about it. I'm trying to save up to go to a tech school, I don't have the time and patience to learn History, Science, etc. I need the skills and a job now.

If im not mistaken, Marshmallow works at McDonalds? So I would assume his parents paid for a portion or all of his tuition. So in his case, I would skip all the time.<p>I on the other hand work full-time (Bartender) and pay for everything on my own. I have never missed a class. Yes, im a full-time student as well.<p>[ March 27, 2003: Message edited by: zytariuk ]</p>

Re: ive been skipping class a lot lately
heh, this has been my problem for the first 2 months i entered university, and it sux. you can skip the #$%king thing and you do,,, you sleep @ home doing nothing. but people get to a point that it seems that they're wasting their time disasterously, and they have dropped tooo many courses to make up for them and well,,, they drop out,, (its true)
but honestly its not worth it, cuz just sittin in the damn class and listenin to the dude blabering for an hour or 2 is very usefull
I g2 replace PS and waterpump belt and tensioner and will be down @ least 100 buks,, <p>[ March 27, 2003: Message edited by: kuruption1983 ]</p>

Re: ive been skipping class a lot lately

Re: ive been skipping class a lot lately
I skipped class on a regular basis my freshman through 1st semester of my junior year and now I wish I wouldn't have. Now I'm a senior and my gpa is a 3.2, not horrible but it would be easier to get a job if it was 3.5 or better. <p>A lot of the time it seems like going to class is a complete waste of time but now I realize that its not about learning in class because 90% of learning in college is done on your own, its about showing the prof that you give a sh*t so you can get a good grade. The more it seems like you are trying and you care, the more professors will be more willing to give partial credit on exams and increase your letter grade by a few points at the end of the semester. Last semester I should have gotten a C in my Java class because I didn't take the time to memorize all the stupid code for the exams but because I went to class all the time and did well on all my projects and talked to my professor he gave me a B.<p>The best way to get through a boring class is to get a big coffee before class so you are too wired to fall asleep-half the time I just day dream about girls or my mx-3 during class but at least it LOOKS like I'm paying attention.

Re: ive been skipping class a lot lately
I don't know bout your school but my classes are packed with hot chicks so going to class isn't so bad. But theres something about a 3 hour long English writing and composition class that makes jumping out a window seem like a good idea.

Re: ive been skipping class a lot lately
actually im in an advanced composition class and it isn't too bad. only one hour long. just writing stories, and having them critiqued by each classmate. its pretty cool they're honest with you on your strengths and weaknesses, but its true sometimes it gets really boring.
