She has alot of courage to be able to go on with life and try to be somebody, I think since her life wasn't taken she still has some big thing to do in her life! That prolly being teaching kids to not drink and drive!!!

That is horrible. It's insane to think one little mistake like that can completely change your life, and anyone you are around. It's like that new comercial for that PS2 game. (not to make light of the subject, but I think it has a good message) It says something along the lines of, everything you do WILL affect the outcome of something else. When he took the first drink of beer, that kid never would have thought in a million years that he would do something like that to someone else. I think that goes with alot in life. That is one of the biggest reasons I dont, have never, and will never do drugs. I even show disgust when my friends do them, because it could lead to an outcome like what this girl has to live with. Even getting in your car to go buy some milk so that you could make dinner, could be the end to your, or someone else's life. Something to think about. I't like my mom always said to me, "It's not you I don't trust, it's everyone else." This girl did nothing wrong, and she has to pay the price. So sad.

I also wanted to add one more thing. I would like to quote a poem that hits me hard every time I read it. In fact I keep a copy of this poem in my wallet with me all the time.<p> <blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><hr>
"I went to a party, Mom"<p>I went to a party, Mom
and remembered what you said,
You told me not to drink,
so I had a Sprite instead.<p>I felt proud of myself,
the way you said I would,
that I didn't drink and drive, mom
though some friends said I should.<p>I made a healthy choice, Mom
and your advice to me was right,
as the party finally ended, Mom
and the kids drove out of sight.<p>I got into my car, Mom
sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was comming, Mom
something I expected least.<p>Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
"The kid that caused the wreck was drink,"
Mom, his voice seems far away.<p>My own blood's all around me,
as I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
"This girl is going to die."<p>I'm sure the guy had no idea, Mom
while he was flying high,
because he chose to drink and drive, Mom
now I would have to die.<p>So why do people do it,
knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me, Mom
like a hundred stabbing knives.<p>Tell sister not to be afraid,
tell daddy to be brave,
and when I go to heaven,
put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.<p>Someone should have taught him, Mom
that it's wrong to deink and drive.
Maybe if he parents had, Mom
I'd still be alive.<p>My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
and I'm so unprepared.<p>I wish that you could hold me, Mom
as I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say I love you, Mom
So I love you and good-bye.<p>~Annonymous~
<hr></blockquote>
Even as I typed that, my eyes filled with tears. It's so sad that people have to lose so much because someone else decides to do something stupid. I'm sorry, this stuff just bothers me so bad.<p>[ March 10, 2003: Message edited by: VizualXTC ]</p>

Thats extremely sad, I read everything in the online book that is on one of the sites. Actually brought a tear to my eye. She has a private bank account that people can donate money to help her. I'm gonna put some in.
