clear 'eurohoods'

Post by ikedogg »

i saw an integra the other day with a clear hood on it... well, it was like a translucent blue. i asked the driver about it and he said it was acrylic and custom made. i thought it was actually kinda neat to be able to see his junk under the hood. anybody else seen one of these or have any info on them?

thanks man... what do you think an acrylic hood would do in the event of a head on collision?

Acrylic is absolutaly the worst thing for heat, its heavy and I'm sure it would scrath pretty freaken quickly. But except for that, I guess its looks kinda cool.<P> just a thought

I think it would be a little too ricey for me to drive around in. I don't think it's too practical for use on the road. However if you are just using it for shows then it's alright.

I think that unless you got some big mods for people to see (intake, turbo, CHROME)then an acrylic hood wouldn't be worth it. Actually I don't think they make too much difference at a show anyway. Go with custom paint instead, find someone who can mix colors well, a little House of Kolor paint goes a long way.
