Low RPM after intake install

Post by pizzamr2 »

Does anyone get this?
I installed a small 45 degree 3" pipe held by 2 silicone hose on both ends, then connected that to the afm and then to a k&n filter
after drive until the car warms up, the rpm would drop to 500, sometimes even 100 (est guess of course), but it wouldn't stall. Heck, the car dosn't even feel like it's going to stall
is this normal?
and what's the normal rate the mx3 should idle at?
thzanks
pizzamr2@hotmail.com

I just have a Ractive filter on mine and my idle appears to be right around the 500 mark. What were you idling at before you did your install?
one

Yes
Mine has always idled at 400-500 once warmed up, at least since I purchased it new in 93.
it will occasionally dip down low when depressing the clutch pedal, but never stalls, and only for an instance.
Andy P. 93 GS
