6speed tranny

I'm searching all options and marking them off one by one. I was thinking of using a 6sd tranny from a ford focus. My friend has one and it hauls butt. Just curious if it would be a negative effect on my engine power usage or not? I've never seen anyone on here try it. Curious why is all. let me know

there was a discussion once about putting a special edition miata tranny internals into a g-series housing i think is what they said...

OMG!!! I have dreamed of this conversion! Would it actually be possible to swap in a 6spd tranny? I've been sure it would improve mileage and, well, amount of tickets. Not to mention the fun factor!! Please, let us know if this could be reality. I've had my 94 RS since 2/98, and most of it spent wanting another gear.

heck ya dude. it would be so fun and would help gas milage, and i think it would improve performance and top out speed. maybe im wrong tho..i dunno..thats the whole purpose of this thread. SOMONE TELL ME!!!! is it possible? Is it a good idea? and what kind of money are we talking?

the only thing i heard was that it was theoretically possible... do a search under miata transmission or 6 speed or something like that... should be under there somewhere
