Who really knows the B6 and BP

Post by Phat93Mx3 »

Okay check it out...I work for a speed shop here in central VA...long story short we we're cleaning out the "junk trailer" and among all the carbs and big blocks/small blocks there was this little head, off in the corner... I instantly noticed it was a DOHC...(I have a 93 SOHC by the way) So I figured what the hey, I wonder what it is...Much to my suprise in big lettering all over that puppy was "BP 05".....Now I'm somewhat familiar with the BPT swaps but from what I understand the BP head is actually stronger than the BPT head....SO ANYWAYS NOW TO MY QUESTION...Would a BP head fit a B6 block? I know doing the traditional BP swap would make more sense but I found this puppy yesterday and I can't stop thinking...."will it fit, will it??" so if anybody has a clue please inform me....thanks and sorry for the story...lol

the bp head will not fit the b6 block as the bp motors are physically longer.
Fast imports only come on two wheels.

The BP is a stretched version of a b6 i think its like 22mm longer. Not 100% sure on that my memory is foggy.

Thanks guys for the 411 on that... So essentially if I got my hands on a BP block the head would then serve a purpose....but what about the tranny? Wouldn't I need a Pro Lx tranny for best results? I just have a hard time throwin this thing away...
