1.6L 4-cyl DOHC NEED HELP WITH INTAKE
I just bought a 95 mx3 with a 1.6L 4-CYL DOHC engine. Ive been having a hard time finding an intake and exhaust system for it. If anyone has any ideas on where i can find one please let me know. Thanks. any info or opinions on what I should do with the engine, your input would be appreciated.
Re: 1.6L 4-cyl DOHC NEED HELP WITH INTAKE
mostly our intakes are modified from other cars to fit ours. I have a 94, DOHC, I bought from ebay an intake for SOHC and with a little modification, works fine. But there are extra parts, and mine had no instructions. Others have used pvc from hardware stores and custom made their own, cheaper, but lots of measuring. Exhaust, there is no aftermarket header for mx3, again, here is fabrication. Probe headers can be used, but have to be modified. You can find all this info by searching through the forum.
This is indeed, a car for the creative.

Hey thanks for the help man. I found a manufacturer that does a mx3 intake. Corksport. Any comments on em, good..bad? I was gonna go to a local shop and have one done custom but right now, to get me started im looking for the cheapest way to increase air flow.
Re: 1.6L 4-cyl DOHC NEED HELP WITH INTAKE
I've done business with Corksport, have no complaints at all. They were the first business I found for MX3 parts. I would have bought their kit, but I was tight for cash and went the E-bay route. It seems their kit, PRM Pro Kit just replaces the airbox and other piping. My rubber hose (between MAF and TB) was cracked. The one on Ebay cost the same as the hose (from dealer). So, for the same price to fix my system, I got a nearly complete new system. Their cheaper kit with the adaptor ($54.95, i think) is for the SOHC.
