1.6 DOHC Headers
Ok, not exactly, but I found this.
This may help those looking for headers.
Not a lot of work.
Headers for the Probe 2.0 modded for our beloved 1.6 DOHCs.
It's at the bottom of the page.
I can't claim credit for this.
I found it through one of Ehpl's posts.
Work done on his car.
I fully intend to employ this in my car.

Re: 1.6 DOHC Headers
Any year the 2.0's ports never changed. Althoug the one we used was a turbular OEM one. Gains are typical for the style of header. I hate describing it as that but its not a serious increase.Originally posted by mxprecidia:

93-94 has a OEM turbular header btw.

Re: 1.6 DOHC Headers
Probe headers ordered and on the way!!!
Can't wait.
I also ordered a new free flow muffler..
I have a friend who owns a muffler shop.
We are gonna use 2 1/4 pipe to connect the two together. All done for under 200 bucks..
Now, all I need is a cold air intake........
for now.

Re: 1.6 DOHC Headers
Well I have them or I should say it, in, The top two centre studs have to be removed an two 14m hex bolts has to be used because there isnt enough clearance for the nuts on the studs against the pipe. Also I used lots of that High temp silicon around the flange gasket. I took a file an trued the face of the header gasket surface, removed a couple of high spots. here is somemore pics of the header install

Re: 1.6 DOHC Headers
I saw a header made for the 1.8 DOHC on the corksport web site for $165 US a while back. I can't double check it right now since their web site is broken, but I'll check later.
Is the probe header somehow better?

Re: 1.6 DOHC Headers
The Probe header is for the 1.6 DOHC inline 4, not the 1.8 which should be a v6.
Re: 1.6 DOHC Headers
I have pics of the down pipe instaled an where I had it bent to fit. you can also see where the hangers lines up after you bend them the other way an extend them 3/4".

Re: 1.6 DOHC Headers
There is also a 1.8L DOHC 4-cyl engine - the BP-DE. Check Ephl's cardomain site. That is what he is installing.Originally posted by Spotted:

I was wondering if the probe header is somehow better or cheaper than the one on Corksport that fits the 1.8L 4-cyl engine.

The header shouldnt work for a 1.8Originally posted by John Long:
