Short problem

Took my car out the other day and I have some stuff to put on it, a new clutch and short shifter tomorrow morning. So I have the pacesetter adjustable shifter and I opened it up today and realized im missing that little set screw that holds the adjustable ball in place. Does this really matter since I will have the ball all the way up anyway or is there anything else I can use? this is urgent!!!
