tranny swap

i know this should have been posted in the automatic forum, but figured this would be a better place

who has done the tranny swap from a auto to 5 speed? for the 4 cyl, around how much did it cost in parts and how much for labour in canadian dollars?

I started to buy an automatic about 3 years ago until I checked at local shops to price a swap...from what they told me it would be cheaper to buy a manual and not mess around with swapping the two. I know that sucks to hear but I think it's your best option.
