Yes it is. It would probally be cheaper to swap your motor out for a BPD though.

Remember that you'll need a hood scoop for the b6t though. The intake manifold doesn't allow you to shut the hood otherwise. Well, without scratching it up from what I've heard anyways.

Really yeah it would be a cheaper option but the biggest thing is just to find prices and see what is cheapest for the parts available.Originally posted by Marlon:

True, and that's actually recommended, but I think that guy has a SOHC.Originally posted by monty73741:

Re: 1.6 sohc to dohc?
Wait...I thought it was better to do this with a sohc. When I considered putting a 94+ B6 in with B6T cams, rods, etc. in my 92, I was told that it would be a big hassle with wiring and so on.
So is it easier or less expensive to go this route, or to go with a BP?
I don't want to cheap out cause I don't want to have to pull a blown engine again later, which is why I want to take the winter and spring to do this.
So what's the deal?

Re: 1.6 sohc to dohc?
The biggest raeson why i suggest the bp is it takes less tiem to drop in a diffrent motor than it takes to do a head job.
