You install it by opening up your trash, and throwing the chip in there. Sorry, but it's a rip-off scam type thing. My advice would be next time you want to do a mod and it looks too good to be true, do a search on this site, and you will find out if it works or not real quick. Take care.

I still get evil thoughts every time I see the bilge blowers at West Marine,... How easy I could sell them on Ebay to poor suckers for 10x the cost. :D
Bud, ANYTHING that claims all kinds of power for about $12 is total bullsh!t. No such creature, dont fall for it. You'd think after all the posts on here about these useless gadgets word would get out,...

Frts of all I paid about $2 for it at radio shack.
socond of all-I heard few people saying good things about piggy-back.
Third of all- I asked if any of you know how to install that, not how to be a jackass.
If you don't know what I'm asking for then shut your hole!

None of my business to jump in here, but what the hell. Personally, I dont know where people are putting this resistor, and I'm not sure I want to know, but I have heard about it. But I think he DOES know what you're talking about, from his many previous posts he seems to know what HE is talking about, and he is just trying to save you some time in trying something that other people already have, and it doesnt work, thats all. Dont feel bad, you didnt know, and you're only out $2. There are people out there paying $150 for bilge pump blowers and $75 for intake swirlers.... They should feel bad, not you....My advice (man I seem to be saying that a lot today) next time you get anything for your car, put a post on here first and ask people if they have done it before and if it worked. You'll get more honest answers than you will ever want.

There are numerous scams running on ebay. The most common being a chip they sell that you connect to your ignition to advance the timing. I think it only works on the coil pack based ignition systems which the MX3 doesn't have.
And Ive already heard one report of someone ruining their motor by putting one of these chips in their car.
Throw the chip in the trash. If you really wanted to know how to install it, you'd look it up yourself rather than slave one of us to look it up for your lazy @$$!! There are numerous "universal how-to's" for installing such chips.

Sorry man,
Didnt mean to be an *** . I guess the best answer is this:
No one really knows how to install that chip because not too many people on here have purchased it. We know its a scam.
EXACTLY What do the instructions that they provided to you say? I am sure that they give at least a little bit of direction on how or where to install it, right? What did they say the chip is supposed to do?
Maybe if you put the instructions on here, we could interpret them for you and try to help you out.
Just a thought.

Thanks man .....
The reason why I asked if someone had installed that before is because on the instuction it says to hook it up to the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor.(instructions from goolge.com) That's the first time I heard about sensor like that on injected mazda... that's why I found it confusing.
I know that all the chips and electric turbos are scam!
I just decided to go to radio shack and give it a shot (can't go wrong for $2).
I wasn't lazy a$$, but just couldn't find specific info on the net, that's why I decided to ask here.I thought that's what the website is for, but I guess not. Lately it seems like it's only for "how do I swap..." and "check out me ride"
Later.

so this chip is supposed to "trick" the ecu into thinking that the incoming air is colder than it actually is. if we have an intake temp sensor it would be in the MAF or the intake manifold somewhere.

yes and it isnt really a chip at all. its a resistor. ive read about it and ive witnessed good things in a friends car...but, yes theres a but, once he took it off the engine really didnt like the stock setting anymore and well, engine took a ****. so my advice is i wouldnt try it. all it is ishooked in line with the iat and yes, it tricks then ecu into thinking it has colder air. i do not think this is a safe mod to any car from what i hae witnessed. so, my advice is to stay away from it man. good luck with future mods though. and any questions, just ask, but expect a lil bit of rudness out of people, its instinct.
i got a 90 pgt...but wish it was a mx-3 bp-t!

This is really TRUE....many people here asked questions/opinions and expected a respectable response like ...this is how...don't do it for the sake of your car....just trying to help...., but what do some people responded? "You're cheap, You're stupid, and some other insults". I just hope moderators can do something with this.
thanks

Sounds like a good way to mess up your ECU to me.
I get the concept, changing the sensor signal to fool the ECU into dumping more fuel into the intake. ECU thinks the air is denser because it's cool & changes the fuel flow to match. Doesn't really help as you're still running the same volume of air with more fuel, & actualy produces a worse burn. You get better power out of a leaner burn, but it produces more heat.
The ECU is constantly measuring your temps, fuel volume vs. RPM & air mass, & the exaust composition to make the best possible burn. Messin with one part can mess up the whole thing, ya have to mod the whole system. I.E.:get a modified ECU.
If you mess it up, the ECU goes into backup, & the car will run like a$$ till you get it back to normal & it resets, or worst case, you sh!t the ECU & are out a few hundred $$. Not worth the $2 to me, but it's your car.
Oh, and about the info ya get here, If ya dont like it, well what can ya do? My recomendation is goin over to the Miata forum tho, the guys there seem to always have better attitudes & MUCH better info on workable mods for the B6 & BPT motors.
