DOHC pistons?

Post by RanMan »

I have been thinking about doing a rebuild of the 1.6 DOHC in my wife's 94RS. I cannot find any performance pistons or rods for this engine. Do they exist? If not, here is some info that you might like to know. I emailed Arias about custom pistons and here is their reply.
---------------------------------------------
These will have to be custom made. Price per cylinder is $145.00 which includes piston, pin, locks, and rings. Turn around time for this is 4-5 weeks and we need a sample piston.
Thank you.
Please make note of our new e-mail address.
sales@ariaspistons.com
www.ariaspistons.com
----------------------------------------------
So, would anyone be interested in some high compression pistons or lower compression pistons (for turbo apps)?

that is what i have. carrilo rods and wiseco pistons. quite expensive though @ $1800 for the setup. the cost of parts alone is 1600 but the pistons have to be checked and piston protrusion "adjusted". mine had .040 and had to be shaved. i guess this is a common problem with miata and mx3 though. i have some treated rods and pistons id sell to ya if you would settle for them..
DRAG SPEC MX3 BEING PARTED OUT.
BUY ALL MY STUFF OR DIE.lol, SERIOUSLY BUY MY STUFF. PLEEEASE
