Tranny fluid dip stick?

Post by Shades »

Um, just wondering if there is a dipstick for tranny fluid or a plug?

Manual or Auto? There is no dipstick on a manual. The fill plug should be on the side somewhere. With manual you squeeze it into the fill plug until it seeps out, thats when you know its full.

How do you pull off the speedo gear? What kind of wrench? And what is the location?

Well on my last truck what it is is the speedodometer is run by a gear that hooks to your transmission. Lets say 500RPM of the gear means 50 miles an hour(example, now way that is it). So there is a cable that goes into the tranny to measure the speed of the car.
