There is a place in Montreal called Engine Land , it's a performance store, they get engines straight from Japan with low milage, the 1.8 Turbo is from mazda GTX 88-89 it's 200hp and the stock mx-3's DOHC is 105hp <P>"ENGINE LAND" 10024 Avenue london - Montreal-Nord h1h 4h1 (514) 325-0888 or 1 877-966-0888 <BR>good luck

actually, the gt-r motor you are referring to is from 90-94. the 88-89 was the b6t...which is rated anywhere from 132-150 depending on what model it is(euro, n. america, j-spec). the gt-r is rated around 210hp. chances are, the only j-spec 1.8 you will find is the gtx which is rated at about 180-185.

the transmission won't do you any good because it's an awd setup. you'll need to get a 90-94 pro lx tranny.

my personal opinion...if you are going to upgrade your motor (turbo, internals, valvtrain, etc.) get the gtx motor. slightly less hp to start with but it's cheaper. if you don't plan on doing "anything", then get the gt-r.
