After market cam gears

Post by Shady469 »

HKS makes adjustable cam gears for the 89-93 Miata and 93-95 MX-3. How much HP can you get with cams? Ive heard from 12 to 25 so i'm not sure. Also how should you adjust them? Are our cars meant for top end or off the block? thanks in advance.

an adjustable cam gear will not give 25 hp at all. it is better on a dohc because you can adjust the intake and exhaust cams independantly. the one i bought for my sohc was the biggest waste of money. it turned out that neither adv or retarding the gear did anything but hurt me.

you will get minimal gains in n/a engines...especially sohc's. the best hp gains are for forced induction set-ups.
Fast imports only come on two wheels.
