Engine swap besides a B6t

Post by agreatguy »

As far as 4cyl's go every body says to swap with the Mazda B6t. My question is, has anyone tried a swap with one of Mazda’s more powerful 4cyl like the BPT or the incredibly rare BPD? Anyone know of any sites with a swap like that?

I mean the BPD "Big Turbo" found in a Mazda 323 4WD GT-R, not GTX

from what i know, the bpd is the n/a motor found in escorts and pretege's. the bpt has two versions...the gtx=180hp and the gtr=210hp. go here to read about the bpt swap. <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/bat_elof/bpt.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.geocities.com/bat_elof/bpt.html</A> <P>both bpt's would be the same, it's just the gtr version is has all the "goodies". read the motor swap info on this site for the BPD swap

oh, well now im confused i found a webpage: <A HREF="http://www.fordfestiva.com/Performance/ ... guide.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.fordfestiva.com/Performance/ ... de.html</A> <BR>and it said that the BPD was the badass of all the B series engines and That there isnt much difference between the BPT and BPD except the BPD has more features like, special cylinder heads, and hallow exaust valves, bigger turbo, intercooler, etc. So which is the badass of the mazda B series? BPT or BPD?

that's the first i've seen of the bpd being the motor from the gtr. well, if that's true, then that's the motor to go with. here's what i read in the motor swap forum that confused me:a BPD 1.8 litre DOHC 4 cylinder found in the '90-'91 Protégé GT & AWD, '90-'95 Escort GT & Tracer LX-E. In the US this engine is also found in more recent model Protégé's and the Kia Sephia. either way, the motor from the gtr is the bes motor.

I've seen a 626 turbo around here but I dont know the compatability of it. Also I heard that the probe gt engine is the same as the 1.6 mx-3's, with that in mind has anybody thought about the probe gt turbo?

it would be an ungodly task putting the probe gt motor(v6) in. stay away from v6 engines unless you have an abundant amount of time and money.
