Re: Idle RPM?
I Don't know about u guys, but my car seems to idle really low. Its a 1.8 v6 and it idles just ( i mean JUST ) above the lttle line below the 1000 mark. so i am thinking its idling less then 500, b/c the line itself, is loweed then the halfway point.
How do i adjust the idle so its at about 750 rpm?

------------------
Deano, 1996 Black GS

Re: Idle RPM?
I guess 750 RPMS is a little under the 1000 mark. You know that little line you mentioned earlier? well if you find the middle between that line and the 1000 rpm line then just over that half way point a little , That should be around 750.

Re: Idle RPM?
well, i got one for someone to answer.....
The other night, I was driving home and when it came time to stop at stoplights.....i would put the car in neutral and let it coast to the light. Well, while doing this (at every light), the idle would jump from 1000-1500, go back down, and then go back up like 4 or more times in a row. Then, it would sit on 1000 for a while, then go to 900 or so. Very weird. It had never done it before, so I'm a little confused by it....
Help???
John
Re: Idle RPM?
I had a Toyota Paseo before my Mx and it did that very same thing. But in park when you first start it. It would just kinda bounce from 800-1500 then after driving a couple moments it chilled out. I have not the slightest idea why though.

Re: Idle RPM?
In response to someone else's previous post, I mentioned that when you hit the brake pedal, you're drawing vacuum for the brake booster which causes the drop in RPM's. I hope this answers your question.....Manny
