What do you doods run for tire pressure when your doing a track day? (road course)
Also is tail happiness a MX-326GS tendancy, or are MX-3's also tail happy? My car is mechanically a MX-3. Front and rear subframes, brakes etc, with KYB GR-2's and a Mx-3 Eibach pro kit springs.
Does your car run out of fuel when it has less then a 1/4 tank when cornering hard?
Well, there's your problem. The gas is pouring out of the middle of your car! Oh, it's water.
The MX-3 is tail happy, but not too bad, with the passive all wheel steering. Mine is pretty balanced, since it has poly bushings (the aws is more active, and the parts that need to be stiff are stiffer), and I have the strut braces, lower tie bars, Whiteline swaybar, etc.. I am running H&R springs with Gabriel struts. I have pretty neutral handling. If I snap into a turn, it will understeer a tiny bit, but otherwise, it's balanced. It took a LOT of work, and trail/ error. I just put my tires at about 32, and keep them higher on the street for better gas mileage.
I hadn't had fuel starving.
The 326 is pretty neutral until it is pushed really, really hard. The gas starvation issue only happens under a 1/4 tank while pushing hard on the track. Might be my track as many cars suffer from the same problem on that same corner.
You could try inserting foam blocks into the fuel tank. OR find an AWD fuel tank as it has 2 fuel pumps, would require a little work though.
The MX is pretty tail happy, after months of readjusting my coilovers and camber I have it dialed in pretty good now. but I am running a bit too high in tire pressure for my liking right now. about 5 under max in front and 10 under in the rear, going to drop it another 5lbs or so.
