New Discovery? MPV Mini Sides

Post by Nd4SpdSe »

Well, at my parents place, the owner of the junky houses in the neighbourhood parked his POS MPV in my parking spot, but I park in "his" parking lot, but still, it's a junky POS with a sticker that expired like almost 6 years ago and it's in plain view outside of our nice bay window. He's got plenty of other places he can hide that thing. I'm wanting a good excuse to use the winch and move the damn thing. Anyway, last time I was home, I happened to notice these on it. Apparently I've still got my Mx-3 Modding Mentality, lol

I still crack up when I see this, if they're identical I'm going to raid the Pick n Pull. There are about 7 MPVs.

just by the pictures it looks like that rough black textured plastic that they use for fender or lower body trims, that flimsy (or flexible) plasticy stuff like that's on some tacomas:

they're 100% not the same as the euro mini's, but I wouldn't see why you couldn't make them work. I think it'd look more tacky than nice, since it wouldn't contour properly and you'd have this rough looking piece of plastic chillin' in front of your rear tire.

The only reason I disagree with you Kris, is the mounting tabs you can see from the rear... Those types of plastic usually clip into place, don't they? Those look like screws(although they appear to be plastic), similar to what our cars use for the skirts/mudguards.

I'm still glad to have the real deal, I can't wait to get my car put together properly... Come paint day, it'll be MS front bumper, Euro Minis, Clear corners, My H4 housings(painted), and probably my wraparound spoiler to top it off. Not to mention a dent free passenger door, since mine has a basketball sized dent... :(

I can almost see it now!

... I went to post a photobucket picture... I guess that didn't turn out too well...

so who's gonna go out and grab them? I still say they're flimsy and tacky compared. looks like it's got a sharp edge cut instead of a smooth rounded mold. I say someone go to the junkyard, if they're different, claim they're flimsy and tacky..

if they're not different, claim they're flimsy and tacky, run around and raid the junkyards for all the pieces they can find, then sell them as authentic euro mini sides at 3x the markup!

from the pic they do look textured and they look "similar" in shape, but I think they are going to be off a little bit with the fitment. Now I think they could easily be modded to work, with slight manipulation. The textured look is easily solved with a little bit of sanding. I vote Blake goes and finds a set and fits them to an MX ;)

Haha you would volunteer me! I do need to do a run through my local swamp yard... Cars are rolling over in the mud there, but they've got 70s(and older) model cars rusting away in this yard... I found a little slice of heaven, now I need to find some hip waders to slog through heaven.

If theres an MX3 and an MPV in one yard just throw the skirts on a temporarily and snap some pics, no loss there?
